EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION FOR WALTERS PUMPKIN PATCH
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE A WALTERS PUMPKIN PATCH TEAM MEMBER:
We hire exceptional people. This will be one of the more challenging yet fun jobs you’ll ever have. We are in the agritourism business, which means people pay us for fun! Fun is a concept that is defined differently for each person, but each person knows what “fun” is to them.
Every day is different. We believe in cross-training each team member so you have the opportunity to hold different jobs throughout the day. We like moving team members around to keep things fresh; however, if you like the idea of holding the same role for your entire shift during the season, there are options for that. We have indoor and outdoor tasks, more or less physical tasks, and more frequent or fewer interaction tasks with the public.
As a team member, you will interact directly with people who are looking for a fun, family-friendly experience.
They’ve planned their adventure to the farm, driven from far and wide, and are planning to spend the day with us. All they need is a little help. It is our job to make sure they get started exploring quickly, finding the services they need throughout the day, and have fun throughout their visit. We are the party coordinators for their day-long party. All we have to do is take care of them.
Sound fun? If it doesn’t, DON’T apply for a job! If you’re not up for smiling and helping people for three to eight hours, please look elsewhere.

2024 FALL SEASON WEEKDAY SHIFTS
WEEKEND SHIFTS: The majority of our employees will be hired to fulfill our weekend shifts for the seven weeks from the third weekend in September (September 21st) through October 31, 2024.
SATURDAYS: we will hold an employee meeting at 9:30am so that we can go over all the needs for the weekend. (Is there a corporate party, do the animal feeders need to be filled, etc.?) You can clock in at 9am to make certain you are ready to start the day, but you will not be paid, if you clock in prior to 9am (and you are just standing around or not working). If there is something “special” that you need to tend to, then make sure management knows what you will be doing and has okayed the extra time. Attractions will close down at 6pm, but if you have a customer, do not shut a door in their face! You are required and responsible to take care of all our customers as if they were your family! We also provide lunch for each of our employees on Saturday. When you have a break and have someone to fill your position, you can come up to the Events Building for a 30minute lunch…..make it quick. You have others waiting for you to return to your position.
SUNDAYS: We open to the public at 1:00, so employees will need to be clocking in at 12:30 and ready to start their afternoon. No lunch is provided on Sundays, so eat before you come out. If you are here before 12:30, do not clock in unless you have checked with management and have a task that you need to complete before opening. Once again, attractions will be closing at 6:00pm and not a minute prior to that 6:00. No customer wants to have tokens to use up and the attractions are already closed, when they were told that they would be open until 6.
WEEKDAY SHIFTS: We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays during the week unless special duties are assigned or requested. Our hours to the public are 10:00am to 7:00pm. However, with our school tour groups who have registered with us, our hours may begin earlier….most likely 9:00am. The majority of our special attractions will be closed during the week.
